I've left some photos from my most recent trip, Dubai, above. I'd never been before but for a long time I though I might want to live there. Well, I now know I don't want to live there but it was still a nice break from the stress of work and general life.
Dubai was interesting, hot and surprisingly relaxing. Whenever I go somewhere new I find myself riddled with a fear of missing out, so as a result I end up darting around like a scared rabbit to do and see as much as possible. I think somewhere between trying to squeeze 14 tourist attractions in a day and substituting sleep for energy drinks, I end up feeling more frazzled than relaxed.
There was plenty of darting around in Dubai but there were also 2 entire days spent on the beach, which I'm sure is the only reason I managed to survive the heat. It was a nice balance of exploring and relaxing and I'm already thinking about the next trip away....
On a side note, I've found myself taking a liking to TripAdvisor so you can have a look at my reviews here. I always feel all warm & fuzzy whenever someone finds one of my reviews helpful.
