Goodbye 2014

(Picture: Tumblr)

Once again, before we all knew it, it was the end of the year. Story of my life.
Happy New Year! I've seen a lot of people make their New Year's Resolutions on Facebook and Twitter so I thought back to the little goals I set myself back in 2013. I don't really make resolutions, but I like to make a list of things I'd like to achieve by the end of the year and see how many I can cross off.
So I went back to my diary (oh yes, I keep one of these still) and was pleasantly surprised at how well I had done. I'd bought a new camera, been on holiday, visited London and Meadowhall (I'd never been, ok? I realise I'm literally the only person in the UK who has never been to Meadowhall) and had managed to generally have a good year. So I thought I'd share some of my goals for 2015 with you and maybe you can share some of yours with me.

  • This year I want to get back in shape. Working full time has left me feeling frumpy and I've gained a whole dress size, so I would like to eat better, drink more water and exercise more, and who knows, maybe even lose a dress size or two.
  • I'd also like to read more books. I think I only read a grand total of 8 or 9 last year, mostly because I had only just finished university and I felt like it was a little too soon to open a book again. Or ever. But I've found the joys of getting lost in a books again, so I want to make an effort to do it  more often this year.
  • Travel. I've already booked a long weekend in Budapest at the end of January but there are so many more places I want to see, both in England and abroad.
  • Save more money. Stop spending on unneeded things in general really. My one true hobby.
  • Blog more. I really enjoy blogging but I hardly do it. I guess I've had a valid excuse since my laptop broke back in November but I'm now the proud owner of a shiny new laptop and should really dedicate a little more time to this.
Have you made any resolutions or set yourselves any goals for the year? Or do you have tips about how to stick to your resolutions?
